Episode 70: Maximize Your Farm Results With Leadership Training

In today’s episode, Tracy speaks with Kelly Dobson, chief leadership officer of LeaderShift Inc, about “Maximizing Your Farm Results With Leadership Training.”

In Episode 68, a prequel to today’s episode, we spoke to Kelly about the importance of leadership on the farm in the episode titled “The Farm CEO.” We explored the fact that very few of us, especially farmers, consider our own leadership as a competitive advantage; however, research shows that farm leader effectiveness can account for as much as 1/3 of business performance. As farmers, we genuinely are the X Factor for massive change in our farming operation.

In today’s episode, we speak about how farmers can maximize their farm results and personal well-being with leadership development. Kelly goes on to state that Canada already has some of the best farm managers globally and increasing their leadership effectiveness is the next step. That is why Farm Management Canada and Kelly partnered to create an innovative leadership training just for farmers. The National Farm Leadership Program is designed to fit into busy farm life and help farmers to identify the critical development areas that will have the greatest impact on their personal and professional lives. Most importantly, it is designed to help build the capacity for farmers to achieve more of what matters. Led by certified executive coach and fourth-generation farmer, Kelly himself, the program’s design offers participants individualized learning within a group setting utilizing a confidential online platform, 3-day residency and year-long personal and group coaching.

Join Tracy and Kelly as they speak about why leadership is not only good for business, it’s good for the well-being of the farmer, the farm family, and those they work with.
