Once cattle are turned out on grass, it’s easy to slip into thinking they’re settled in and don’t need the same level of day‑to‑day attention until fall.

But summer isn’t a quiet period from a business point of view. For Canada’s beef producers, it’s one of the most important checkpoints of the year.

Summer is your mid-year report card. By July or August, you have most of the information you need to understand how the year is shaping up, but you must take the time to look.
