Advanced Wrapping Technology
One of the standout features on the OptiWrap wrappers is KUHN’s unique IntelliWrap technology. This system uses advanced electronics and hydraulics to control the wrapping process, allowing the operator to effortlessly adjust film layers and seam layers by simply entering target layer counts on the display. The wrappers can be tailored to different bale sizes and operator preferences, including adjustments to bale width, loading gap, loading delay and engine idle time to meet the demands of any operator.
Standard on both the OWR and OWS, the BaleEye photoelectric sensor detects when a bale is present on the platform and initiates the plunger and hoop cycle. Operators can increase the loading delay to give the operator more time to load the bale or decrease the delay to increase productivity. BaleEye does not rely on mechanical moving parts, meaning it has no mechanism for material to get caught and does not wear out like competitive mechanical sensors.
Optional on both wrappers, the TubeGuide™ laser auto guidance system provides automatic steering, increasing operator convenience while maximizing wrapping efficiency. The system allows for automatic wheel straightening and centering to follow both straight and contoured rows. When the target row runs out, the machine returns to a straight heading.
Unmatched Wrapping Capabilities
The standard pre-stretchers, which each hold a 30” (750 mm) roll, are made of aluminum to avoid tack build-up from the film. Both outer ends of the rollers are cone-shaped to maintain the optimum width of the film and reduce the risk of film tears. Their special ribbed profile keeps air and water away from the film. In addition to the design, the industry-leading standard plastic stretch ratio of 70% provides more efficient plastic utilization, reducing film cost per bale.
The dual-driven hoop features poly, non-pneumatic wheels for extended life and reliability. A center divot in each wheel helps wick water away to ensure reliable hoop drive even in adverse conditions. Each wheel is independently spring tensioned, so wheels always stay in contact with the hoop.
Efficient Power Use
OptiWrap wrappers are powered by an efficient 13-horsepower (10 kW) Honda iGX engine. The engine is matched with a hydraulic system that utilizes low flow cylinders for faster cycle times and increased productivity. The system automatically adjusts the engine rpm between low, medium and high speed to save fuel without compromising performance. The engine can run long hours with a standard 8-gallon fuel tank located at the rear of the machine, where it can be refueled even while loaded.
KUHN OptiWrap inline bale wrappers are a testament to KUHN’s dedication to providing farmers with the tools they need to achieve maximum productivity and profitability. With technologically advanced features, unrivaled wrapping capabilities and efficient power usage, KUHN’s OptiWrap inline bale wrappers offer exceptional benefits for any operation.
