June is Men's Mental Health Month —
Let's Talk About It.
The Do More Agriculture Foundation invites you to join our next Field of Mind: Supporting Men's Mental Well-Being session. With men less likely to seek help and more likely to die by suicide, these conversations are crucial.
Featuring Seth McVeity of the Centre for Suicide Prevention, this session opens the door to connection, practical tools and meaningful support. Seth will also speak about the Buddy Up campaign—a national initiative led by the Centre for Suicide Prevention to promote authentic conversations between men and raise awareness around suicide prevention.
📅 Date: Tuesday, June 24 (1-hour)
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM-11:00 AM PST // 11:00 AM-12:00 PM CST // 1:00 PM-2:00 PM EST // 2:00 PM-3:00 PM AST
💻 Location: Online (via Zoom)
🎟️ Cost: Free
Moderated by Dr. Merle Massie, Executive Director of The Do More Agriculture Foundation.
Whether you're farming yourself or supporting someone who is, this session will provide practical tools, insights, and space for honest conversation.
Together, we’ll explore:
- The realities of stress, identity, and masculinity in ag
- How to support mental well-being in ourselves and others
- Simple ways to check in and stay connected
This session is for you if you're part of a rural or agricultural community, identify as male or support someone who does, and want to foster a culture of care.
Hosted by The Do More Agriculture Foundation, Field of Mind is a free virtual workshop series aimed at addressing men's mental health.
Miss the first Field of Mind session? Our first session of 2025 was held on April 23 with guest speaker Gerry Friesen, author of The Recovering Farmer: A Journey Through the Labyrinth of Anxiety and Depression. Gerry shared powerful insights on what it takes for a farmer—and a man living in a rural area—to reach out and seek help for mental health. Read Gerry's post on The Do More Ag Blog and watch the full webinar recording.
