He has experience providing estate and tax planning advice for private businesses including corporate reorganizations, tax and estate planning. He also has experience with real estate, financing and corporate/commercial transactions.

Eric has a particular focus working in the agriculture industry including serving farmers, ranchers and agribusiness companies. He also has experience working with a national organization and parliamentarians on developing agricultural policy. Eric grew up on a family farm in Manitoba and currently assists with a family-owned operation in Southern Alberta.

Allison Henkell
Tax Partner at BDO


Allison is a CPA CGA, and Tax Partner at BDO Canada LLP with 15 years’ experience in Income Tax and related matters. She specializes in providing tax effective solutions for her clients related to corporate structuring, reorganizing for acquisition or sale planning purposes and estate planning matters.

Allison has extensive experience in Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Professional Services sectors. Her main focus is on developing solutions for owner-managed businesses and the entrepreneurs who operate them.

After completing school, Allison worked with a large accounting firm in Kitchener working in both their Entrepreneurial Services and Tax departments. She worked as a Corporate Tax Auditor with the Ontario Ministry of Finance before joining BDO In November 2002. Allison completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2005 and became a partner with BDO in January 2014. Allison works with clients through the Woodstock, Stratford, Mitchell, Norwich and Exeter offices of BDO.

Allison has also taught Income Tax courses on a part time basis at Conestoga College, filled the role of lecturer for an Economics course through the Kitchener-Waterloo chapter of the CGA and worked as a Group Study Leader for the CICA In-Depth Tax Course.
