50th Anniversary Cover Photo Contest

Manitoba Ag Days is inviting photographers from across the Prairie Provinces to help capture the spirit of its milestone 50th anniversary show through the Manitoba Ag Days 2027 Show Guide Cover Photo Contest.

The theme of the 2027 Manitoba Ag Days show is “Fifty Years of Innovation and Tradition.” Photographers are encouraged to submit an image that reflects this theme and celebrates the people, places, equipment, livestock, landscapes, traditions and innovations that have shaped prairie agriculture over the past 50 years. Creative interpretation of the theme is encouraged.

Manitoba Ag Days is looking for photographs that are visually compelling, authentic and representative of Prairie agriculture. Whether capturing a piece of historic equipment, a new agricultural innovation, a family tradition, a working farm, a Prairie landscape or the people who make agriculture possible, submissions should connect to the spirit of Fifty Years of Innovation and Tradition.

The winning photograph will be selected to appear on the cover of the official 2027 Manitoba Ag Days Show Guide, putting the photographer’s work in front of thousands of farmers, exhibitors, industry representatives and visitors attending Canada’s largest indoor farm show.

“We want this photograph to tell a story about Prairie agriculture,” said Ag Days General Manager, Kristen Phillips. “Our 50th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate where agriculture has come from while looking toward where innovation will take us next. We’re excited to see how photographers interpret that story through their own lens.”

To be eligible, submissions must meet all of the following requirements:

1. Location: Photos must be taken within the Prairie Provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta.
2. Orientation: Photos must be taken in vertical (portrait) orientation. Photos that do not meet this requirement will be automatically disqualified.
3. File Format and Resolution: Photos must be submitted as an uncompressed TIFF or maximum-quality JPEG. Digital files should be approximately 2700 pixels wide by 3600 pixels tall (9" x 12") at 300 dpi. Photos that do not meet or exceed these requirements will be disqualified.
4. Photographer: Photos must be submitted by the person who took the photograph. Each person is eligible to submit a maximum of three photos and to receive a maximum of one prize.
5. Permission: If identifiable individuals appear in a submitted photograph, the photographer must obtain permission from all individuals pictured before submitting the photo.

Contest deadline: Friday, October 9th, 2026 at 11:59pm

Please submit your photos by emailing a Google Drive, Dropbox or similar file sharing link to design@agdays.com 
In the body of your email please include: photographer’s first and last name, photographer’s telephone number and the location of the photo

Prizes:

First place - Front cover photo on the 2027 show publication (print and digital edition) with photo credit, 2 complimentary show admission tickets, official 50th anniversary swag and recognition on @mbagdays social media channels

Second place - 2 complimentary show admission tickets and recognition on @mbagdays social media channels

Honorable mention - Recognition on @mbagdays social media channels

The 50th anniversary Manitoba Ag Days will take place January 19–21, 2027, at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba.
